1. Klaus (2019)

This 2019 Netflix release is an animated fun Christmas movie that brings a version of Santa’s origin. It tells the story of postal worker Jesper, the world’s worst postman, who is shipped off to work in the frozen island above the Arctic Circle. There, he befriends a reclusive toymaker named Klaus. Their new friendship inadvertently ends up transforming a broken village ravaged by years of internal fighting and gives Jesper a new look on life.

This hand-drawn animation is Netflix’s first foray into full-length animated movies, and it has been very well received.

2. Christmas Chronicles (2018)

In this Netflix original, brother and sister duo Kate and Teddy Pierce plan to get a shot of Santa. They do, but he notices them and tasks them with helping St. Nick and his loyal elves save Christmas. The movie is full of fun and adventure as they have to deliver presents all over the world before the sun is up.

This is one of the biggest Netflix films of 2018, and it was significantly boosted by Kurt Russel’s fantastic portray of Santa Claus.

3. A Christmas Prince – Trilogy (2017 – 2019)

This Netflix trilogy stars iZombie’s Rose Mclver as an American reporter who is sent to cover a story about the soon-to-be prince of Aldovia. She somehow gets a way to be closer to the royal family. But while she is looking for a story, the prince is looking for a queen. The trilogy covers the story of the ascension to the royal throne, the royal wedding, and getting ready to welcome their next heir to the throne (not to smooth).

The 2017 story was such a hit that Netflix decided to follow it up with two sequels. The third one was recently released and is now streaming on Netflix.

7. A Very Murray Christmas (2015)

This Bill Murray film is more of a Christmas special than a movie, and it brings together many famous faces. It is a musical comedy where Murray worries no one will show up to his TV show due to a terrible snowstorm in New York City. Celebrities including George Clooney, Chris Rock, Michael Cera, Miley Cyrus, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph and more (everyone playing themselves) end up showing up and singing some Christmas classics.

Can’t Access the Movie you want?

Sad as it is, Netflix offers different libraries, depending on your location. This is done through geo-restrictions which the streaming giant imposes due to copyright issues. Thankfully, if you find that Netflix doesn’t give you any of the movies above, there’s something you can do about it.
